Core Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support
- Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach
- Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software
- Commit to your own growth through coaching and training
- Share your experience with the community
Essential Qualifications
- By the time you begin your service with Math Corps, you should be:
- Dependable and have a history of good attendance
- Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback
- Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
- Able to successfully complete a background check
Schedule
- We are currently hiring for the 2026-27 school year. Positions run August 2026–June 2027.
- 35 hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)
- Daytime hours (corresponding with school start and end times)
- Monday-Friday (no weekends)
- Time off on holidays and school release days
- Part-time positions are also available at 27.5 & 20 hours per week!
- AmeriCorps positions include a total service-hour commitment for the program year. Most hours are completed through regular site-based service; members work with program staff to plan their schedule and may occasionally complete approved service or training outside of the school day as needed.
