Responsibilities
- Review and approve construction materials submitted by contractors and suppliers
- Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards
- Supervise and monitor material testing activities conducted in laboratories and onsite
- Review material submittals, technical data sheets, method statements, and test reports
- Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, laboratories, and client representatives regarding material approvals
- Conduct inspections of material manufacturing plants, quarries, asphalt plants, concrete batching plants, and suppliers
- Monitor quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) procedures throughout project execution
- Investigate material related issues and provide corrective actions and technical recommendations
- Verify compliance with international standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, BS, EN, and local authority requirements
- Prepare technical reports, non conformance reports (NCRs), and material approval documentation
- Support project teams during audits, site inspections, and regulatory reviews
- Maintain records of approved materials, test results, and quality documentation
