Material Planner

Position Description

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement & Sourcing:
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, purchase order management, and delivery tracking.
• Develop and execute souring strategies to optimize cost, quality, and lead time for critical data center components.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, industry regulations, and contractual agreements.
• Supplier & Vendor Management:
• Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and service level agreements to drive cost savings and improve supply chain efficiency.
• Monitor supplier performance, address issues proactively, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Inventory & Cost Optimization:
• Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and costs.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through volume discounts, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by providing insights into procurement costs and market trends.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure procurement aligns with data center project timelines and operational needs.
• Assist in developing procurement strategies for new data center builds, expansions, and equipment upgrades.
• Support sustainability initiatives by sourcing environmentally responsible materials and vendors.
