Job Summary

Supervises personnel that perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.

Job Duties

· Supervises a team of 10-15 individuals that Counts, weighs or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.

· Responsible for the success of the warehouse portion of a government contract.

· Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify.

· Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.

· Determines method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.

· Prepares materials for shipping by weighing, packaging and stamping.

· Manually wrap/package material.

· Prepares necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading.

· Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.

· Operates pallet wrapper and strapping machine.

· Process transactions in the warehouse management system.

Required Skills, Experience and Education

· Ability to supervise and motivate others to fulfill the warehouse requirements of the contract.

· Handles complex issues/problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

· Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.

· Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.

· Requires a high school diploma and 8 years of experience.

· Oral and written communication skills.

· Ability to understand and follow directions.

· Ability to lift/move heavy objects
