Master Production scheduler will determine and set daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing schedules. To perform this role successfully, one will examine customer orders, available staff and inventory, and machinery capabilities to effectively set and manage production schedules. In addition, the Master Production Scheduler monitors manufacturing performance and actively adjust schedules in response to equipment failures or supply shortages. They also identify opportunities to make processes more efficient and cut down on production costs through more effective scheduling. This role is responsible for scheduling the production for Glass, Insulated Glass, Door and Frame departments. all production facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Creates master production schedule partnering with sales, supply chain and operations.
Is accountable for and reports on key metrics, including on-time delivery, quality and production efficiency.
Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment.
Manages SIOP process and resolves related issues.
Optimizes and schedules identical processes to eliminate duplicate machine setups.
Identify problems to improve efficiency
Ensure company deadlines are met
Distributes work orders to departments, denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.
Communicates with department supervisors to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods received from methods or engineering departments.
Compiles reports concerning progress of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise production planning personnel of production delays.
Maintains inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production.
Expedites production of spare parts and establishes delivery dates for spare parts orders.
Required Experience: 2-4 years of Supply Chain/Production Scheduling experience. LEAN and Continuous Improvement experience, specifically value-stream and process mapping. Strong organization, prioritization, and planning skills. Ability to use software to create routine reports, schedules, and correspondence. Experience reviewing reports and using data to make informed production decisions Proven process enhancement skills Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to collaborate in a team to ensure that schedules, inventory availability & delivery dates are balanced Ability to adapt & adequately respond to issues like material shortages, equipment failures or changes to customer orders Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Required Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Management or related experience.
