JOB SUMMARY

  • The Marketing and Communications Manager creates and executes property level communications to customers.
  • Promotes on brand messaging through traditional, digital, and social media channels.
  • Helps build direct marketing plans, targeted campaigns, and activated channels to drive consumer awareness and preference.

Education and Experience

  • Required: 2 year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major and 4 years experience in sales, marketing, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing or digital advertising experience preferred.
  • OR 4 year bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related major; 2 years experience in sales, marketing, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing or digital advertising agency experience preferred.

Hotel Marketing and Advertising

  • Executes annual marketing plan to budget.
  • Partners with Operations, Food & Beverage and Sales teams to execute promotions and campaigns.
  • Acts as liaison between marketing department and advertising agency.
  • Manages F&B media schedules.
  • Partners with property Revenue Management.
  • Executes email marketing and display advertising.
  • Maintains engagement with Cluster eCommerce manager.
  • Verifies advertising alignment with brand voice.

Social Media Content Management

  • Facilitates social media engagement and updating content in local digital channels.
  • Develops and executes promotions campaigns in F&B, weddings, spa, rooms and conferences through digital and social media channels.
  • Engages in proactive online reputation management.

Public Relations and Visual Asset Management

  • Develops a comprehensive PR plan per quarter.
  • Maintains a comprehensive list of local media contracts.
  • Manages assigned accounts.
  • Writes and distributes press releases.
  • Manages execution of hotel sponsored events.
  • Supports pull through of impactful PR strategy.
  • Verifies news clippings report.
  • Manages external vendors and media agencies.
  • Surfaces and vets PR leads.
  • Supports coordination of photography.
  • Manages photo shoots.
  • Acts as central point of contact for photographers.

Direct Marketing and Collateral Development

  • Coordinates and executes Hotel and F&B printed materials.
  • Controls quantity and inventory of marketing collateral.
  • Assists in production of property, F&B display, and temporary signage.
  • Promotes collection of competitors collateral.
  • Manages execution of F&B direct marketing activities.
  • Verifies collateral compliance with brand standards.

General

  • Assists and manages development, coordination and execution of all communications activities with emphasis on F&B promotions.
  • Helps with publication of hotel’s newsletter(s).
  • Supports communications duties as necessary.
  • Assists in liaison and execution of joint F&B promotions.
  • Works with eCommerce to update hotel website.
  • Partners with Director of Marketing to create marketing plan.
  • Provides training and marketing leadership.
  • Coordinates with property and above property eCommerce and Revenue Management teams.
  • Keeps abreast of competition and marketing trends.
