Marine Welder / Shipfitter

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in shipboard welding, fabrication, or marine structural repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certifications in welding procedures for multiple materials, including high tensile steel, Cu-Ni alloys, and aluminum.
• Certification and demonstrated experience welding shipboard systems, including high pressure steam, compressed air, fuel piping, tanks, and hull components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in operating welding equipment, cutting torches, grinders, plasma cutters, and fabrication tools.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, fabrication methods, and marine construction practices.
• Thorough understanding of occupational safety regulations related to welding, hot work, confined spaces, and shipboard maintenance.
• Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
• Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce
• A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. Valid country driver’s license. and passport.
• Experience working in U.S. Navy, Military Seatlift Command (MSC), or commercial shipyard environments.
• Experience fabricating and repairing advanced marine piping systems and specialized shipboard equipment.
• Experience performing pressure vessel and high pressure piping welds.
