Position Overview
The position is Senior Marine Technician in the marine and shipping industry.
The role requires 8–10+ years of relevant experience.
Candidates currently based in Qatar or the GCC will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and support technical operations for vessels.
- Apply knowledge of marine machinery, engines, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and marine equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of vessels and marine equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of Flag State, Class requirements, statutory inspections, and marine safety standards.
- Coordinate with vessel owners, masters, chief engineers, crew, shipyards, workshops, Class, and service providers.
- Identify technical issues, coordinate repairs, and ensure timely resolution of breakdowns and maintenance requirements.
- Support dry-docking, vessel inspections, repairs, spare parts, and technical procurement.
- Review and maintain technical records, maintenance schedules, inspection reports, and vessel documentation.
- Work independently while handling multiple vessels and technical requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 8–10 years of relevant marine or shipping industry experience.
- Proven vessel maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and technical operations experience.
- Strong marine machinery, engine, mechanical system, electrical system, and marine equipment knowledge.
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Knowledge of Flag State, Class requirements, statutory inspections, and marine safety standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Candidate Preference
- Candidates currently based in Qatar or the GCC will be preferred.
