Parker Meggitt Fuel Systems & Composites designs and manufactures aerospace flight control, hydraulic, fuel, thermal management, lubrication, and pneumatic systems and components.
The role is based at the company’s Stevenage, Hertfordshire site.
Position Summary
The Composite Manufacturing Engineer develops processing techniques and assembly strategies for specialized advanced aerospace composite parts.
The role supports composite manufacturing, process improvement, new product introduction, and existing product programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop composite processing techniques and engineering assembly strategies for advanced aerospace composite parts.
- Improve manufacturing processes under a Zero Defects philosophy.
- Interact with customers in support of NPI and existing product programs.
- Use data-based problem solving in the manufacturing environment.
- Create work instructions for composite component manufacture from laminating through assembly and paint.
- Lead continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and maintain ERP bills of materials and routings.
- Identify and specify tooling requirements and accept and approve tooling for production use.
- Conduct PFMEAs and implement control plans across product lines.
