Role Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer designs, implements, and continuously improves manufacturing processes and equipment.
The role supports daily plant activity while driving improvements in quality, productivity, cost, safety, and operational performance.
The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and leads improvements on the manufacturing floor.
Responsibilities
- Review manufacturing processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvement initiatives.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, relieve bottlenecks, and address capacity constraints.
- Provide hands-on engineering support to assigned production areas.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions using structured problem-solving tools.
- Design and redesign manufacturing-cell layouts for material flow and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain standard work for quality requirements and business continuity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and uphold safety and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels to drive alignment and results.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 4 years of experience in metals machining and electronics manufacturing.
- Experience with AutoCAD for work-cell layouts and design.
- Strong working knowledge of lean or continuous-improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated success leading cost-saving or process-improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and make effective real-time decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNC programming experience is preferred.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification is preferred.
Physical and Work Environment
- The role may require sitting, using hands and fingers, talking, and hearing frequently.
- Occasional duties may include standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Close vision is required, and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
- The work environment includes occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, with noise levels from moderate to loud.
