Position Summary

  • The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, qualifying, and supporting manufacturing processes used to produce certified aircraft interior components.
  • The role focuses on aerospace plastics, injection molding, secondary manufacturing operations, assembly processes, and production readiness activities within a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for aircraft interior components.
  • Establish process parameters, manufacturing instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation.
  • Develop manufacturing routings, process flow diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and production methods.
  • Develop and optimize injection molding processes for aerospace interior components.
  • Support mold trials, process qualification, and production validation activities.
  • Troubleshoot molding defects, process variability, and production issues.
  • Analyze process capability and implement corrective actions to improve quality and productivity.
  • Work with engineering plastics including PEI (Ultem), PEEK, PPS, PC/ABS, and other aerospace approved materials.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with customer, regulatory, and aerospace requirements.
  • Support AS9100 quality system requirements and internal quality procedures.
  • Participate in AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) planning and execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in plastics manufacturing, injection molding, or related production processes.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience with CAD software and manufacturing engineering tools.
