Manager, Transmission & Interconnection

Lead interconnection activities across ISO/RTO and non-ISO markets (CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP), managing studies (feasibility, system impact, facilities) from application through completion—including preparing submittals, coordinating with transmission providers, responding to information requests, and reviewing results.

Evaluate study outcomes to identify network upgrades, cost exposure, schedule impacts, and technical risks; engage with stakeholders to optimize upgrade scope, cost, and sequencing.

Utilize TARA power flow software to perform power flow analysis and contingency screening, validate consultant results, and investigate injection/withdrawal capacities for generation and large load facilities including data centers.

Support early-stage site screening by evaluating transmission access, substation capacity, and interconnection pathways for renewable projects, battery storage (including BESS/hybrid charge-discharge modeling), and data center loads.

Leverage AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI) to prototype Python scripts and automation workflows for data extraction, queue monitoring, cost tracking, and study analysis—embracing "vibe-coding" to solve problems faster.

Coordinate with development, engineering, energy modeling and finance teams to incorporate interconnection requirements into project design and commercial assumptions.

Track queues, deposits, and compliance obligations; compile diligence materials and technical memoranda; coordinate with finance on payments; execute interconnection agreements and monitor tariff changes.

Compile interconnection inputs for project diligence materials, internal approvals, and technical memoranda; and maintain accurate tracking logs and project documentation.

Practical, execution-oriented professional with experience managing interconnection processes for utility-scale renewable energy or large load projects.

Comfortable coordinating multiple active projects simultaneously and working through detailed technical requirements in a fast-paced development environment.

Analytically minded with a strong foundation in power systems theory; able to interpret interconnection study results, critically evaluate consultant work, and identify gaps in analysis.

Excited about using AI coding assistants to automate workflows and solve technical problems—comfortable "vibe-coding" to quickly prototype solutions without formal software development background.

Organized, detail-oriented, and effective at collaborating across engineering, development, and external stakeholder teams.

Resourceful, willing to experiment with new tools, and motivated by moving projects forward and resolving execution challenges.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

4–6 years of experience in interconnection engineering, transmission planning, or renewable energy development, with exposure to utility-scale projects (100+ MW generation or 50+ MW loads) across U.S. power markets such as CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, MISO, and/or SPP.

Experience with power flow analysis software (TARA, PSS/E, PSLF, or PowerWorld) and demonstrated ability to independently perform studies, interpret results, and critically evaluate consultant deliverables for technical soundness.

Comfort with AI-assisted "vibe-coding" workflows—able to prompt AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI) to quickly generate Python scripts, parse documents, automate data pipelines, and solve ad-hoc technical problems without formal software engineering background.

Experience coordinating with consultants and managing external interfaces; strong communication skills with ability to challenge assumptions and translate complex technical findings into business recommendations.
