What you will be doing

• Support commercial teams in positioning Checkout.com products, solutions, and services to help win deals.
• Understand merchant requirements, map them to APIs and products, and create solution designs and internal documentation.
• Run demos, build payment flows and proofs of concept, and create customized presentations.
• Provide thought leadership on acceptance rate, fraud prevention, tokenization, payment methods, and other payment performance topics.
• Lead technical interactions with merchants through calls, meetings, and workshops until deals are won.
• Champion the product for ANZ leads and liaise with central product leaders on roadmaps, market needs, and priorities.
• Support bid management teams with RFP and RFI responses.
• Provide market and merchant feedback to commercial and technology teams and champion product improvements.
• Stay current with industry standards, solutions, and market developments and become an expert in Checkout.com's platform and products.

About you

• Have 3-5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales Consultant, Implementation Engineer, or Technical Account Manager.
• Have experience in a technical client-facing role and a strong commercial, proactive approach.
• Communicate with technical stakeholders such as developers and product teams as well as business and executive stakeholders.
• Translate technical terminology into layperson's terms and solve issues using logs, API responses, and tests.
• Be organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize changing workloads.
• Be familiar with API integration methods, REST/JSON APIs, Postman, and related best practices.
• Have experience with at least one common front-end and one common back-end technology from the listed alternatives.

Nice to have

• Payments industry exposure, including payment rules, regulations, schemes, and end-to-end payment flows.
• Experience with 3DS, network tokenization, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Open Banking, or fraud-risk engines.
• Familiarity with PSD2, PSD3, PSR, FCA, or ISO-8583.
• A former engineering, developer, or product manager background.
• Prior experience in the e-commerce industry.
