About the Role

The Manager, Privacy Compliance supports privacy compliance for Capital One Canada.

The role provides expert privacy advice to a technology-focused business and helps maintain an effective, well-controlled Privacy Program.

The position requires relationship building, consultation, and knowledge of financial industry regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operation and administration of the Canadian Privacy Program.
  • Identify regulatory risks and communicate regulatory developments to stakeholders.
  • Advise business units on federal and provincial privacy requirements for products, initiatives, and processes.
  • Review and challenge processes and results and support privacy impact assessments.
  • Support regulatory examinations and internal audits.
  • Investigate and respond to privacy requests, complaints, and inquiries.
  • Develop oversight documentation for Enterprise Privacy activities supporting Canada.
  • Assist with the Canadian privacy framework, mandate, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver privacy training to business stakeholders.
  • Partner with auditors, regulators, and first-line leadership to support compliance.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience in privacy, compliance, risk management, or legal work within financial services, telecommunications, or insurance.
  • At least five years of experience working in privacy.
  • At least five years of experience with Canadian banking legislation, laws, standards, and regulations.
  • Proven innovation and process improvement experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • CIPP(C), CIPM, or equivalent designation, or willingness to complete one within six months.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and influence others.

Compensation

  • The expected annual salary range is $130,000 to $148,400.
  • The role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses.
