Manager, People Tech Application Engineer

Translate product management ideas and business concepts into product designs, technical specifications, prototypes, and implementation plans.

Partner across Product, People, HR Technology, IT, Security, Legal, Finance, and Engineering teams to understand requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions that support People Team products and services.

Lead a team of People Tech engineers or application developers, providing technical direction, prioritization, coaching, and delivery accountability.

Contribute directly to the codebase, including production code, reviewing pull requests, and resolving complex technical issues, and building solutions.

Architect scalable People Tech solutions that support internal tools, workflow automation, integrations, reporting, AI-enabled experiences, and operational processes.

Own the quality of technical design by writing, reviewing, and approving technical design documents and PRs.

Advocate for and apply best practices for availability, scalability, operational excellence, maintainability, cost management, and production support.

Work closely with product and engineering teams to integrate AI, LLM, and chatbot solutions into People Tech systems where appropriate.

Design and develop middleware, APIs, services, and integrations across systems such as Slack, Workday, Jira, Confluence, internal People data services, and other enterprise platforms.

Enhance our engineering practices for code quality, CI/CD, documentation, data handling, integration patterns, launch readiness, and operational support.

Coach and mentor engineers, delegate effectively, and ensure the team adheres to engineering best practices.
