Key skills for this role
At Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, part of One Brooklyn Health (OBH), education, clinical readiness, research integrity, and patient safety are central to how we prepare today’s healthcare teams and develop the next generation of clinicians. The Simulation Program & Institutional Review Boards (IRB) Manager plays a key role in advancing that work by supporting high-quality simulation-based education and well-organized Institutional Review Board operations across a mission-driven healthcare environment serving the communities of Central and Eastern Brooklyn.
Reporting to the Simulation Director, with a dotted-line relationship to the Director of Medical Education for IRB-related responsibilities, this position oversees the daily coordination, operations, documentation, and administrative processes that support simulation training, American Heart Association life support programs, interprofessional education, and human subjects research administration.
This role works closely with Graduate Medical Education (GME), Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), nursing, allied health, faculty, residents, fellows, investigators, research staff, and institutional leaders to ensure that learning experiences and IRB processes are efficient, compliant, responsive, and aligned with the standards of Brookdale Hospital Medical Center and One Brooklyn Health.
The Simulation Program & IRB Manager is ideal for a highly organized, service-oriented professional who thrives in an academic healthcare setting, values collaboration, and wants to contribute to a program that strengthens clinical education, supports research compliance, and helps advance the health and well-being of the Brooklyn communities we serve.
