Role Summary
- Lead a team of three to five mechanical design, quality, and procurement engineers.
- Manage detailed engineering and purchasing of vessels, piping materials, and structural steel.
Pressure Vessels
- Engage vendors on pressure-vessel design, cost, feasibility, and metallurgy decisions.
- Supervise bid generation, bid evaluation, and purchase orders for pressure vessels.
- Understand and enforce applicable ASME and API codes and quality protocols.
- Expedite deliveries, inspect vessels, and authorize release to shipment.
Plant Integration and Procurement
- Coordinate vessel integration with piping, process design, instrumentation, and project management teams.
- Lead purchasing activities for piping materials and structural steel from engineering drawings and documents.
- Enforce codes, quality control, final inspections, and approvals before shipment.
Management and Quality
- Develop standard operating procedures, project deliverables, and group responsibilities.
- Manage work-product quality and timely completion of mechanical engineering milestones.
- Lead vendor development for vessels, piping materials, and structural steel.
- Participate in executive policy, critical project, and planning discussions.
- Support employee development through reviews, planning, and dialogue.
Candidate Qualifications
- B.E. or B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from a qualified institution.
- Ten to fifteen years of experience in design and engineering of pressure vessels or modules involving vessels, piping, and structural steel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good quantitative skills and an interest in how things work.
Location and Travel
- The role is based at the company's design office in Bhosari, Pune and is performed in person.
- Travel outside Pune may be required for up to 10% of the role.
Compensation and Benefits
- The stated pay is ₹180,000 to ₹200,000 per month.
- Benefits include food provided and a provident fund.
