Translate documents, including but not limited to corporate reports, internal and external communications, social and audiovisual content, legal documentation and technical and financial content
Ensure proofreading, spelling and punctuation verification and correct and consistent writing in both official languages
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and performance management to Language Services team members, fostering professional growth and strengthening team capabilities
Read given material, research industry-specific terminology and apply best practices to the CIB’s documents
Manage the CIB’s translation tools, vendors and budget, including CAT tools, external agencies, training and glossaries
Ensure the highest quality translation results and provide excellent internal customer service
Provide support to the CIB’s official languages champion in fulfilling their responsibilities regarding the application of the Official Languages Act and Official Languages Policy within the CIB, including progress on measures to achieve the expected results in the CIB’s Official Languages Action Plan
Develop employee awareness activities to promote understanding of the official languages obligations within the organization
Promote the advancement of English and French within the organization
Perform other duties as needed and directed
Bachelor’s degree in translation, interpreting or similar field required; Master’s degree or additional certification in linguistics considered an asset

8+ years of experience as a translator and proofreader
Knowledge of and experience with provincial and federal language regulations
Proven knowledge of translation software in general, and specifically Phrase, is an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Illustrator) and Figma
Knowledge of the banking industry, investment sector, infrastructure or government agencies is an asset
Bilingual French and English (written and oral) mandatory
French native speaker, TEF C2 or Superior level mandatory
Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors
Ability to apply existing standards to new or different documents
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Capacity to work independently and proactively solve issues related to the function
Excellent knowledge of content editing tools and affinity for technology
Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to perform under pressure within tight deadlines
