The Manager, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) provides leadership and technical expertise for HSE programs across the Fort Worth Campus.
The role is accountable for maintaining effective management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing key environmental and safety programs, and partnering with site leaders to identify and control HSE risks.
This position manages the Fort Worth Campus ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, serves as the Radiation Safety Officer and Laser Safety Officer, oversees TSCA and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) reporting and monitoring requirements, and leads governance, auditing, incident investigation, risk assessment, procedure development, and waste management activities.
Your Role
will impact project performance and success, requiring project management, advanced problem-solving, effective communication, and industry-specific knowledge.
All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
Compliance with regulatory requirements and commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.
In the Manager, Health, Safety & Environment Manager (Professional Path) role, you will:
- Oversee multiple projects related to health, safety, and environmental management, ensuring goals are met through self-directed work and effective oversight.
- Create and implement comprehensive health, safety and environmental programs to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental accidents.
- Inspect workplace and HSE incidents in accordance with company procedures, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement, develop and manage training plans for environmental and employee health and safety, and maintain relationships with the community, environmental groups, and other stakeholders impacted by the organization's HSE performance.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience
- Travel: Minimal
- Work Location: Onsite – Fort Worth, TX - Main
