Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Manager - Farm Operations role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
The Manager - Farm Operations will oversee day-to-day farm activities, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring crop and/or livestock operations to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable production.
Responsibilities include managing irrigation schedules and systems, supervising farm staff, allocating resources, and ensuring proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
The role will involve implementing best practices in agriculture and animal husbandry, monitoring productivity and yields, and addressing operational issues promptly.
The manager will prepare regular operational reports, support budgeting and cost control, ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards, and collaborate closely with senior management to achieve production and quality targets.
Qualifications
- Strong farm management experience, including planning, supervising daily operations, and managing Farms at commercial scale.
- Solid technical knowledge of Agriculture and modern agronomic practices suitable for arid and semi-arid environments.
- Hands-on experience with Irrigation systems, including scheduling, monitoring water usage, and coordinating system maintenance.
- Background in Poultry operations (broilers and/or layers), including biosecurity, feeding, and health management, is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
- Proven people management skills, with experience leading diverse on-site teams and coordinating contractors and suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience with farm data, KPIs, and basic budgeting or cost control.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards in agricultural operations.
- Good communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability and willingness to work on-site in Abu Dhabi Emirate and regularly be present in the field in varying weather conditions.
