Lead the vision, delivery, and optimization of core university enterprise platforms.
Oversee teams responsible for SAP ERP, SIS, LMS, CRM, software development, and integration.
Partner with business leaders to keep applications secure, modern, integrated, and aligned with research, student, teaching, and administrative objectives.
Provide people leadership while remaining technically credible in modern architecture, Agile/DevOps delivery, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Shape the enterprise application roadmap and transition legacy on-premise systems to modern SaaS platforms.
- Direct vendor partnerships, negotiations, service-level agreements, and system integrators for major platforms.
- Break down data silos across academic, financial, and student affairs departments.
- Translate business strategies from senior stakeholders into the enterprise application roadmap.
- Modernize delivery through product-led, Agile, and DevOps methodologies.
- Enforce automated testing, release management, application lifecycle controls, and planned maintenance windows.
- Protect sensitive institutional data in partnership with information security and enterprise architecture teams.
- Lead and mentor application specialists, analysts, developers, and database administrators.
- Upskill staff toward cloud administration, SAP integrations, and Microsoft cloud architectures.
- Establish team goals, work allocation, accountability, and a collaborative service-oriented culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, data or technology management, or equivalent qualifications and relevant experience.
- Professional certification or equivalent experience in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, Agile/DevOps, IT service management, SAP, or integration technologies is preferable.
Required Skills
- Experience building, scaling, and managing technical application teams during migration or organizational change.
- Experience managing financial resources, significant budgets, and high-value contracts.
- Strong communication skills across executive, business, technical, and risk contexts.
- Strong vendor management skills, including vendor roadmaps, contracts, service-level agreements, and accountability for outcomes.
Preferred Skills
- Practical knowledge of Ellucian Banner, preferably including a full-lifecycle implementation.
- Deep understanding of SAP ECC or S/4HANA and its relationship to academic administrative data.
- Foundational understanding of Blackboard Learn configurations, building blocks, and LTI integrations.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, M365, and Power Platform for identity management, productivity, and automation.
