Manager, EHSS

Develop, implement, and manage site EHSS strategies, goals, and objectives aligned with corporate initiatives.

Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce operational risk and improve EHSS performance.

Serve as the site leader and subject matter expert for environmental, health, safety, and security matters.

Develop, manage, and administer EHSS operating and capital budgets to support compliance, risk reduction, employee health and wellness, security operations, training, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Evaluate EHSS resource needs and recommend investments in personnel, equipment, technology, and services that improve organizational performance and reduce risk.

Monitor EHSS expenditure and ensure efficient utilization of resources while maintaining compliance with corporate financial objectives.

Collaborate with the Director of EHSS in the development, forecasting, planning, and management of EHSS operating and capital expenditures to support regulatory compliance, risk reduction, employee health and wellness, security operations, and organizational objectives.

Champion a proactive EHSS culture by promoting employee engagement, accountability, hazard recognition, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives that support a Zero Harm work environment.

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHSS regulations.

Lead regulatory inspections, audits, and agency interactions.

Monitor regulatory changes and implement compliance strategies as necessary.

Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and interactions with governmental agencies and external stakeholders.

Develop, implement, and evaluate safety programs, policies, procedures, and training initiatives.

Lead incident investigations and ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed.

Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective and preventive measures to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.

Conduct and oversee EHSS training programs to ensure employees, contractors, and leaders receive required training and maintain compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.

Ensure EHSS training programs are developed, implemented, documented, and maintained in accordance with applicable regulatory and company requirements.

Ensure contractor safety programs are effectively implemented, monitored, and maintained to promote compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Develop, implement, and continuously improve occupational health and safety policies, programs, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.

Lead initiatives to prevent work-related injuries, illnesses, and exposures through risk assessment, hazard identification, and implementation of effective controls.

Lead investigations of workplace injuries, illnesses, near misses, and occupational health concerns to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and employee involvement through effective communication, training, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage site security programs including access control, visitor management, CCTV systems, investigations, and workplace violence prevention initiatives.

Lead security incident investigations and oversee corrective actions to mitigate future risk .

Partner with operations and human resources to address employee, contractor, and visitor security concerns.

Direct emergency planning, drills, business continuity activities, and crisis response efforts.

Coordinate response activities with internal stakeholders and external emergency response agencies.

Oversee environmental compliance programs including waste management, hazardous materials, spill prevention, and environmental reporting requirements.

Ensure environmental permits and regulatory documentation are maintained and compliant.

Directly supervise EHSS personnel and provide coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development.

Establish staffing plans, schedules, and succession planning strategies.

Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Develop and mentor EHSS personnel and leaders through coaching, training, and professional development opportunities.

Partner with operational leadership to identify EHSS training needs and establish development plans that strengthen organizational capability.

Develop and maintain staffing plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies to support operational needs, regulatory compliance, emergency response readiness, and continuous EHSS coverage.

Accountable for EHSS performance metrics including TRIR, DART, workers' compensation costs, security incidents, training completion rates, audit performance, and corrective action closure rates.

Analyze data and trends to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans.

Utilize EHSS performance data, trend analysis, audits, inspections, and leading indicators to identify opportunities and develop targeted improvement strategies.
