For around two decades, we have consulted many leading hotels, resorts, developers, and theme parks in actuating their brands and conceptualizing new world-leading destinations.
GLSW is the specialized signage and wayfinding division of Genius Loci, operating out of the Dubai (UAE) headquarters and consulting on global projects.
Integrating signage, wayfinding and environmental graphics with architecture, interior design and landscape architecture lies at the core of what we do, enhancing environments and experiences.
Responsibilities
- Studio coordination for a variety of global workplace projects.
- Collaborate with the Design Managers, Technical Manager and other Project Managers
- Support in gathering the required information to develop the Creative Brief or created concepts.
- Join weekly project calls to track the progress and receive feedback. Bring all studio-specific inquiries to client meetings to guide our team in delivering consistent and efficient work back to our design partners.
- Set up project workflow tools such as Asana, Slack, or others to track the status of Studio elements.
- Guide our partners in implementing our design packages via site support or assessing possible tenderers.
- You’ll support in maintaining and communicating the GLSW guidelines.
- You will become an advocate for our brand and become a resource to the team in delivering projects consistent with our brand, values, and culture.
- Research support for upcoming projects.
- Organize, maintain, update, and recommend changes to our guidelines, standards, and documents.
- This would include Signage guidelines and templates, Project Briefs, Project Archiving, Processes and Procedures.
- Support the studio in managing a library of internal content, visuals, resources, messaging, local and international standards, guidelines, etc...
- You’ll work cross-functionally with various stakeholders and foster relationships within the creative community.
- Set up and maintain regular meeting cadences with internal stakeholders to confirm we are current on deliverables.
- Maintain a global list of potential design and fabrication partners to be reviewed and onboarded by the team.
Qualifications
- A 4-year college degree (preferably a BA/BS in business administration, marketing, design, engineering)
- Strong understanding of Environmental Graphics design and Industrial design. Developing wayfinding systems is a plus.
- At least 3-5 years of industry experience in graphic design, branding, or environmental graphic design-related projects.
- 5+ years of project management experience in a design studio.
- Familiar with architectural construction documents
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to handle multiple Environmental Graphics Design-related projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and exhibits a passion for learning.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across a large spectrum of business units.
- Understanding of materials/methods required for signage fabrication and installation
- PMP certification or equivalent is recommended.
- Proficient in English; Arabic is a plus
Software Competency
- PowerPoint – Proficient
- Microsoft Suite – proficient
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) - good to know but not required.
- AutoCAD (or similar CAD program) - good to know but not required.
- Revit
- good to know but not required.
- Knowledge of 3D modelling software is a plus.
