- Accountable for the performance and results of a team within its discipline
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
- Assign staffing for the departmental positions on projects and proposals
- Responsible for administrative and technical management of the Commissioning Department
- Identify performance gaps and correct including systems, equipment, and people resources
- Provide leadership and instruction to their employees
- Ensure work is coordinated between other disciplines, offices, fabrication, and construction to meet project requirements
- Manage the technical execution to support business considerations established for the project
- Responsible for the administration and technical management of the department
- Execute annual appraisals of the employees
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering
- 15+ years of experience and proven leadership experience in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant
- Significant role in at least three major projects in oil and gas or chemical process industry demonstrating technical broad knowledge of commissioning and start up
- Effective communication skills, able to establish confident relationships with discipline managers, technical engineers, and non engineers
- Good working knowledge of English, both oral and written
- Excellent computer software skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and other engineering software programs
- Excellent organizational skills and adaptability

Job Overview
- The Manager Commissioning manages professional employees and supervisors and is accountable for the performance and results of the Commissioning group.
- The role will address resource and operational challenges by appropriately adapting departmental plans and priorities.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities

- Decision is guided by policies, procedures, and business plan; receive guidance from manager.
- Assign staffing for the departmental positions on projects and proposals.
- Responsible for administrative and technical management of the Commissioning Department.

- Provide leadership and instruction to their employees.
- Ensure work is being coordinated between the other disciplines, offices, fabrication, and construction to meet project requirements.

Essential Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience and proven leadership experience in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant.
- Significant role in at least three major projects in the oil and gas or chemical process industry demonstrating technical broad knowledge of commissioning and start up.
- Must have effective communication skills, able to establish confident relationships with discipline managers, technical engineers, and non engineers. Presentation skills are required.
