Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented **Male Accountant** to join our construction/contracting company in the UAE.
The ideal candidate must have strong UAE experience and in-depth knowledge of accounting practices specific to the construction industry.
Requirements
- Minimum **3 years of accounting experience in the UAE** (mandatory)
- Proven experience working in a **construction or contracting company**
- Strong knowledge of **UAE VAT laws**, VAT filing, and compliance
- Hands-on experience with **Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)**
- Ability to prepare and analyze **financial statements, reports, and reconciliations**
- Experience with cost control, project accounting, and job costing
- Proficient in accounting software (Quickbooks) and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations
- Handle AR/AP, invoicing, collections, and payments
- Follow up on purchases, supplier invoices, and payment status
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure full compliance with UAE regulations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and audit requirements
- Coordinate with management on financial planning and controls
Preferred
- Experience with construction contracts, variations, and retention
- Immediate availability
- Must be an English speaker with strong communication skills
