Maintenance Technician II - Facilities Services - 1

General Summary: Performs electrical and plumbing work and other maintenance projects.

Essential Duties: Troubleshoots electrical failures and removes and replaces faulty electrical components;

Changes ballasts, tubes, and light bulbs;

Performs plumbing work installs and all types of plumbing repair;

Assists with basic carpentry work including hanging pictures and plaques;

Monitors and maintains electric locks on county buildings;

Reads and interprets blueprints and written instructions;

And confers with supervisor concerning construction, alteration, maintenance, and repair projects.

Other Duties as assigned.

Supervision Received: From Director Given: This is a non-supervisory position.

Required: High school graduation or its equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Preferred:

Experience Required: At least three years of experience.

Preferred:

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required: Texas Journeyman Electrician license.
