About the roleAt CSR Hebel, we're recognised for manufacturing high-performance building solutions with a focus on safety, quality, and innovation. Located in Somersby on the Central Coast, our site is gearing up for a significant phase of growth with a major shutdown planned later this year and exciting capital projects on the horizon.We're currently seeking a hands-on Maintenance Superintendent to lead our day shift team of trades and support the Maintenance Manager in delivering operational excellence across site maintenance, contractor engagement, and continuous improvement. The OpportunityAs Maintenance Superintendent, you'll take on a critical leadership role responsible for the day-to-day supervision of 23 trade staff (10 mechanical, 8 electrical) and contractors. Your goal? Drive maintenance performance, minimise downtime, and support safe, efficient plant operations.This is a frontline leadership role working day shift that combines people management, technical support, and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities:Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this hands-on leadership role will see you: Lead and support a day shift maintenance crew across mechanical and electrical disciplinesSchedule and oversee maintenance activities including major shutdownsDrive team accountability for safety, attendance, training, and performanceTroubleshoot plant and equipment issues to identify and resolve root causesLiaise with contractors and suppliers, including managing service contracts and purchasingSupport and contribute to capital works, lean initiatives, and continuous improvementManage and track maintenance activities using SAP or other CMMS platformsEnsure compliance with WHSE standards and permit-to-work systems About youYou're a strong and supportive leader with a passion for getting the best from your team.Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications (fitter, boilermaker, etc.) - engineering degree highly regardedPrevious experience in a maintenance leadership role, supervising trade teams, ideally within heavy industry or manufacturingStrong technical understanding of rotating equipment and mechanical systemsPrevious background in preventive and reliability-based maintenance practicesExperience with CMMS systems (SAP preferred), planning/scheduling, and contractor managementA proactive, safety-first mindset with solid fault-finding and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively Why Join CSR?Collaborative, supportive leadership with an open-door policy.Career growth opportunities within a leading national business.Strong work-life balance, with a supportive and collaborative team culture.Rewarding career with on-the-job learning, development, and upskilling opportunities within and across our brandsSupportive and collaborative culture that fosters innovation and inclusion.
