Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale.
Ensures daily performance is met per shift schedules and develops methods to improve upon performance targets (waste, uptime, overtime, etc.)
Trains employees regarding operating procedures, observes for behaviors and corrects where necessary. Ensure that all Chudleigh Traits are being followed and any issues are brought forward immediately.
Knowledgeable of industry regulations and able to implement them (OHSA, HACCP, GMP’s, BRC, Continuous Improvement methods).
Confers with management to coordinate larger work activities and to resolve problems.

Responsible for suggesting methods to improve peeler operations, processes, efficiency, and service. Inspects, tests, or measures completed work, using appropriate tools to complete the jobs efficiently and safely.
Adjusts work methods and procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines, equipment, and personnel.
Performs weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance checks on equipment.
Maintain accurate records (including use of Maintenance work order system) of materials and supplies such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts for work activities.
Works on projects outside of the peeler area as assigned.
Coverage for Maintenance Manager Absences as assigned.
Coordinate with other staff members and departments to ensure alignment and performance.
Conduct 1:1 at least monthly for each direct report. Offer rich discussion on development opportunities.
Lead and coach employees to complete scheduled workload in a safe manner ensuring food safety first.
Ensure due diligence compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Train employees to operating procedures, observing behaviors and correct when necessary.
Monitor trainers, training methods and make recommendations to training programs.
Create an environment for employee ownership and accountability using collaborative continuous improvement tools to meet goals.

Supervisory experience
Technical Degree at the college level
Millwright Certification
Refrigeration Class B License.
Minimum 5+ years of progressive Maintenance Supervisory experience.
Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or higher is preferred).
Safety training (i.e., Lift devices, Fall Arrest, etc.).
Dessert Manufacturing Facility or Bakery experience.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, with proven troubleshooting and repair skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bonus Points If You Have:
Strong BRC (or similar GFSI) knowledge or experience.
Strong knowledge of WHMIS, Chemical Handling, HACCP, GMP, OHSA and regulatory requirements.
