Role Overview
A large food processing company in Mississauga is seeking a Maintenance Helper for its growing facility.
The Maintenance Helper reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Manager and provides general maintenance support.
Essential Duties
- Start, operate, monitor, inspect, and shut down packaging and process equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot or repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic production equipment.
- Read equipment manuals and work orders and perform simple machinist duties.
- Maintain conveyors, plumbing, carpentry systems, plant facilities, and production equipment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain electronic maintenance records, plant housekeeping, and clean work areas.
- Assist with line production and ensure the team follows OSHA safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Working knowledge of hand tools and strong computer skills, including Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to retain information, learn, and maintain a strong work ethic.
- Food industry experience is an asset, and maintenance experience is preferred.
