Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert and senior technical resource for IBM z/OS and associated subsystems.
• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade z/OS, CICS, Db2, RACF, TCP/IP, and z/OS Connect.
• Support JES2, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, USS, and DFSMS operations and perform routine platform health checks.
• Administer RACF, SMS storage management, and HSM and enforce access, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Perform SMP/E maintenance, software installations, and operating system upgrades across global deployments.
• Resolve system software incidents through log analysis, dump review, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Monitor the mainframe environment and maintain alerting rules and automation using ISV products.
• Optimize compute, storage, and network resources and perform performance and capacity management.
• Develop automation processes using REXX, JCL, ISPF dialog management, and System Automation tooling.
• Partner on APIs, DevOps tooling, cloud integration, z/OS Connect, CI/CD, and hybrid-cloud modernization.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, procedures, and technical standards.
• Manage technical relationships with third-party service providers, including deliverables, SLAs, and escalations.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7–10 years of experience in mainframe systems programming or systems administration.
• Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS, its control structure and logic, and RACF security.
• Extensive experience with IBM z/OS system and subsystem software in large-scale deployments.
• Deep knowledge of IBM enterprise server hardware, facilities, and supporting infrastructure.
• Hands-on proficiency with SMP/E, JES2, JCL, ISPF dialog management, and REXX.
• Experience with complex problem determination, root-cause analysis, and resolution.
• Experience administering CICS, Db2, TCP/IP or VTAM, and DFSMS/HSM.
• Experience with CA/Broadcom, BMC, Rocket Software, or equivalent ISV products.
• Availability for a 24x7 on-call support rotation.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with IBM and ISV product installation and support tools.
• Proficiency in IBM Assembler language.
• Experience with System Automation, performance monitoring, communication servers, batch scheduling, change management, storage management, or ISPF dialog development.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, z/OS Connect, and hybrid-cloud integration concepts.
• Exposure to API development and HTML for ISPF and web-facing mainframe interfaces.
• Experience in retail, supply chain, financial, or large-scale transaction-processing environments.
• Knowledge of Git-based source control, Python, or shell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with AIOps, AI/ML observability tools, or intelligent automation frameworks.
