Mainframe Systems & Services is a leading innovator in Mainframe Platform Engineering, committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions and exceptional reliability to our 100+ tenant applications.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Engineering Manager to lead our Mainframe Platform team in Limerick, which plays a vital role being part of our overall global platform engineering team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage the Mainframe Platform engineering team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of mainframe systems and applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement platform strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals which achieve our defined KSIs and KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform performance, security, and reliability to achieve in maximum platform availability.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence which ensure future sustainability of the mainframe platform with new talent development.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively using GM IT tools with an expectation for comprehensive and ongoing management reporting.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the platform remains competitive and up-to-date such as IBM Znext, AI Capabilities, OpenSource advantages, and alternative solutioning options supporting enhanced development productivity.
- Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience related to engineering platforms. Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation initiatives.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers, driving innovation and excellence.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience in working with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
