About the Role
Kilmarnock Enterprise is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee daily shop floor operations, mentor machine operators, and ensure production cycles are met from design to fabrication.

Responsibilities
- Supervise the activities of machine shop workers
- Coach team members on manufacturing best practices
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to achieve on time delivery and project commitments
- Liaise with vendors and purchasing team to source materials and supplies
- Develop weekly schedule with other supervisory team members
- Assist in preparation of tenders, budgets, estimates, and quotations
- Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, product quality, and safety
- Identify, investigate, correct and document potential environmental and safety hazards
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Report to Shop Manager and provide feedback on daily operations
- Mentor junior staff in job duties and safety procedures
- Provide information and assist in employee performance reviews
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory position in a machine shop environment
- Red Seal Certification
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Proven mechanical abilities in an industrial environment
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Leadership ability and team building skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Solid understanding of applicable trades and techniques
- Must be able to distinguish colors
- Experience supporting or performing Quality Assurance (QA) activities is considered an asset

Work Conditions
- 24/7 availability may be required.
- Employee may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
