Machine Operator III - 2nd Shift

SUMMARY -

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Work from pattern to mount and adjust dies, guides, feed, speed, tension, etc.
• Recognize any and all operating problems and make adjustments to accommodate subtle stock variations, worn dies, humidity, etc.
• May move and change rolls, make routine machine repairs, including lubrication.
• Move strip loads and scrap loads.
• Operate machines and hand tools, hand and power trucks.
• Use the following inspection and test gear: board gauge, rule, patterns and stop watch (to time production speed).
• Full responsibility for set-ups and/or work preparation. Seek coordinator's help under unusual circumstances.
• Responsible for product quality. (Set-ups are checked by others.)
• Record and report times and material produced.
• Record and report production and/or equipment problems.
• May answer questions in stacking and packing procedures.
• Report personnel inadequacies.
• Participate in cross-training.
• Practices and promotes safe work practices. Report unsafe working practices.
• Maintains a satisfactory productivity rating.
• Proactively helps to create and work within a team-based environment and practices effective communication skills.
• Trains other team members and retain and apply job knowledge.
