About the role
The Machine Learning Engineer will prepare data and develop machine learning models for image-based optical sensing technology.
The role covers the full machine learning lifecycle, from data pipelines to models running on edge devices.
The engineer will translate research into deployed capability and help guide and review junior engineers' work.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and improve ETL processes and organise datasets for team use.
- Use PyTorch, OpenCV, and scikit-learn to build neural networks for image classification and object detection.
- Optimise computer vision models for accurate detection across sea, littoral, rural, and city environments.
- Participate in meetings, conduct code reviews, and uphold engineering standards.
- Mentor junior engineers, report software issues, and maintain documentation.
