The role is part of a consulting team that combines data science, software engineering, architecture, product management, and industry expertise.

The Role

The Machine Learning Developer Associate contributes to machine learning and AI projects for enterprise clients and internal initiatives.

The role provides hands-on experience with machine learning technologies on IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and edge environments.

Potential Technologies

  • Projects may involve GenAI and agentic AI frameworks and models such as AutoGen, LangGraph, vLLM, Microsoft Agent Framework, and LLMs.
  • Projects may involve PyTorch, TensorFlow, CUDA, computer vision, MLOps, Spark, and Kafka.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy machine learning and AI solutions.
  • Support GenAI, automation, and advanced analytics solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in model development, evaluation, deployment, and optimization.
  • Contribute to proofs of concept, prototypes, and production-ready AI applications.
  • Support delivery of AI and machine learning solutions on major cloud platforms.
  • Develop technical and consulting skills through projects, learning, and mentorship.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, data science, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with or interest in machine learning, statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, or data mining demonstrated through academic or personal work.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages, preferably Python.
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI tools and frameworks and LLM concepts including prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic workflows.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, independent-working, and collaboration skills.
  • Must be eligible to work full-time in Canada.

Preferred Experience

  • Internship, co-op, research, or project experience in machine learning, computer vision, artificial intelligence, data science, or software engineering.
  • Experience with Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, PySpark, software prototypes, proofs of concept, or AI-driven applications.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, distributed storage, cloud AI services, MLOps, model governance, ETL, or large-scale data platforms.

Program Eligibility

  • Applicants must graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution before the employment start date.
  • MBA and PhD graduates are not eligible for this Associate Consultant hiring program.
  • Candidates for positions located in Quebec must be fluent in French.

Hiring Cohorts

  • The opportunity supports Associate Consultant hiring cohorts commencing in May 2027 and September 2027.
  • The role is based in Toronto, Calgary, or Montreal.
