Role Overview

BxT Trading is a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Bapco Energies.

The Dubai-based LPG Trader develops and manages physical and paper LPG trading opportunities.

The role focuses on commercial performance, physical optimization, shipping economics, risk and value creation.

This is a hands-on position requiring an experienced LPG professional who can operate autonomously.

Activities

  • Trade physical LPG cargoes across spot and term markets and execute profitable trading and arbitrage opportunities.
  • Develop LPG trading strategies across physical and paper markets.
  • Identify and monetize optionality across cargoes, locations, timing, specifications, logistics and freight.
  • Assess global LPG fundamentals, trade flows, supply and demand, pricing structures and regional arbitrage economics.
  • Charter vessels and evaluate vessel availability, freight rates, voyage economics, laycans, terminal constraints and demurrage.
  • Negotiate freight solutions with shipbrokers, owners, operators and internal stakeholders.
  • Evaluate commodity, freight, terminal, operational and transaction economics before committing to trades.
  • Participate in negotiations through contracting, chartering, execution, loading and delivery.
  • Maintain relationships with LPG producers, suppliers, customers, counterparties, shipowners and brokers.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Shipping, Risk, Credit, Finance and trading teams.
  • Contribute to the development of BxT’s LPG activity, market presence and commercial network.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute to LPG trading P&L and profitable portfolio and strategy development.
  • Manage trading positions within delegated risk limits and applicable governance.
  • Ensure physical trading and chartering decisions reflect freight and operational risk.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations for spot, term, physical, paper and shipping activities.
  • Conduct trading and chartering in accordance with compliance, sanctions, HSE, vetting and internal controls.
  • Maintain high standards of business integrity, ethics and professional conduct.

Candidate Profile

  • A university degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or an equivalent discipline.
  • At least three years of proven front-office LPG trading experience in a relevant physical trading environment.
  • Deep understanding of physical LPG markets, global trade flows, pricing structures, arbitrage economics and market fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of physical and paper trading, including derivatives and risk management.
  • Hands-on knowledge of LPG shipping and chartering, including vessel selection, freight markets, voyage economics, laycans, terminal restrictions and demurrage.
  • Strong analytical, commercial and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create value.
  • Highly autonomous and decisive, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • High standards of integrity and commitment to compliance, safety and responsible trading.
  • Fluent English is essential; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
