Role Overview
The Logistics Officer manages and coordinates logistics operations and supply chain activities.
The role covers procurement, transportation, warehousing, distribution, fleet operations, and compliance.
The position supports UN agencies, US Embassies, US Military contractors, and government contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute logistics operations under international standards and contract requirements.
- Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods and equipment.
- Manage vehicle maintenance, fuel management, and route planning.
- Oversee procurement, supplier relationships, contract negotiation, and vendor performance.
- Maintain documentation, inventory control, and logistics reporting.
- Implement customs, trade compliance, supply chain security, risk mitigation, and contingency planning.
- Coordinate with government agencies, customs, security personnel, UN agencies, embassy staff, and military representatives.
- Support disaster relief, humanitarian aid, emergency response, and military deployment logistics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Five to ten years of logistics operations experience with UN agencies, US Embassies, or US Military contractors.
- Strong knowledge of international logistics regulations, procurement policies, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with government contracts and high-security environments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in challenging environments with tight deadlines.
- A driving license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Humanitarian aid logistics, defense logistics, or diplomatic mission experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, customs clearance, export/import regulations, and duty exemption procedures is preferred.
