Role Overview
The Logistics Engineer is responsible for conducting thorough research and data collection to support analytics for the Prime Source & Wolf Supply Chain network. This position is centered on designing and engineering both inbound and outbound transportation operations to maintain efficiency and effectiveness within the company’s fleet. The engineer analyzes data, reviews delivery requirements, and conducts mapping analysis of operational and delivery footprints, all aimed at optimizing logistics processes. Additionally, this role utilizes strategic analysis to pinpoint opportunities for improved route optimization, emphasizing maximizing fleet efficiency and driver utilization. Responsibilities include evaluating operational tradeoffs, assessing service levels, and making data-driven recommendations to streamline routes and allocate resources more effectively. The ultimate objective is to achieve cost savings, enhance the effectiveness of delivery routes across the network, and support the highest level of productivity for vehicles and drivers. The Logistics Engineer may also take on other duties as assigned by the business team to support department goals.

The engineer analyzes data, reviews delivery requirements, and conducts mapping analysis of operational and delivery footprints, all aimed at optimizing logistics processes. Additionally, this role utilizes strategic analysis to pinpoint opportunities for improved route optimization, emphasizing maximizing fleet efficiency and driver utilization. Network Optimization & Design
Develop and oversee network models to evaluate transportation and distribution strategies
Conduct dynamic route optimization analyses using real-time data to adjust delivery routes, resulting in reduced travel time and enhanced fleet utilization
Consolidate shipments across service regions to maximize load capacity and minimize trip frequency, improving network efficiency and reducing fleet costs while upholding high delivery service standards
Strategic Analysis & Business Case Development
Evaluate cost, service, and operational tradeoffs to provide clear recommendations for improving logistics and resource utilization
Develop business cases for route and network enhancements that align with organizational objectives and stakeholder interests
Tools, Data & Process Enablement
Utilize analytics tools such as Python and Coupa to create network optimization models and deliver actionable insights
Research service regions and capacity, and design processes to support scenario analysis and capacity planning
Summarize operational tradeoffs, construct business cases for potential investments, and clearly communicate recommendations to leadership
Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are prioritized, coordinated, and successfully executed
Provide guidance and support to direct reports and peers to maintain consistent analytical standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure recommendations are feasible and implementable

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science) required from an EAC- ABET recognized institution. Master’s Degree preferred in Engineering from an EAC-ABET recognized institution
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in network optimization, transportation planning, or supply chain engineering
- Deep understanding of final mile delivery, warehousing, supply chain, logistics, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS), such as SAP TM
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and ideally optimization/modeling platforms (e.g., Coupa, GEP SMART, JAGGAER One, etc.)
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience is highly preferred
Work Conditions
Location: Hybrid work arrangement, combining remote and on-site work as needed at corporate offices.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with additional hours as required
Travel Requirement: Less than 10%
Work Environment: Primarily office-based, with occasional visits to operational settings
