The Manager of Transportation Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing daily transportation activities across multiple Contract Logistics clients. This role ensures operational excellence through effective transportation planning, carrier management, client communication, data integrity, and team leadership.
The successful candidate will serve as a primary operational contact for multiple client accounts, maintaining strong relationships through proactive communication, issue resolution, and service performance management. This position requires a highly organized individual who is comfortable managing large volumes of email correspondence, navigating transportation and warehouse management systems, and coordinating with internal teams, clients, carriers, and vendors.
In addition to operational responsibilities, this role is expected to actively support and model Kuehne + Nagel leadership culture. The incumbent will foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment through coaching, employee development, continuous improvement, and leadership by example.
Act as the primary operational contact for multiple Contract Logistics clients.
Manage high volumes of email correspondence and stakeholder communications.
Utilize TMS and related systems to manage transportation execution, reporting, routing, visibility, and performance.
Maintain data integrity and ensure timely completion of operational transactions.
Engage in development and/or refinement of carrier and customer dashboards

Monitor carrier performance and lead corrective actions when required.
Lead transportation issue resolution, service recovery activities, root cause investigations, and CAPA initiatives.
Prepare and present monthly; KPI reporting, performance reviews, and financial performance with clients and carriers.

Strong understanding of transportation operations, carrier management, customer service, and supply chain processes.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced Microsoft 365 proficiency.
Strong TMS/WMS experience.
Ability to manage heavy email volume.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Minimum 5 years of transportation, logistics, or supply chain leadership experience.
Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience, members sitting in multi-sites preferred
Experience supporting multiple clients and transportation operations required.
CITT, CCLP, P.Log, or related designation considered an asset.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement.
