Logistics Director

Role Description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee transportation, warehousing, distribution, and delivery operations.
• Monitor logistics costs, KPIs, service levels, and operational performance.
• Manage transportation routes, schedules, fleet, and delivery activities.
• Oversee warehouse operations, inventory movement, and storage processes.
• Manage logistics providers, carriers, suppliers, and service partners.
• Negotiate transportation rates, contracts, and service agreements.
• Identify cost-saving and operational efficiency opportunities.
• Monitor shipment schedules, delivery performance, and service quality.
• Manage logistics risks, delays, disruptions, and contingency plans.
• Coordinate with procurement, sales, finance, operations, and supply chain teams.
• Ensure compliance with customs, transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in logistics management and senior leadership.
• Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory operations.
• Experience managing logistics providers, carriers, suppliers, and contracts.
• Strong negotiation, cost-control, and commercial management skills.
• Knowledge of logistics KPIs, route planning, fleet, and delivery management.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, WMS, TMS, or other logistics systems.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Knowledge of customs, import/export, and transportation regulations.
• UAE/GCC logistics experience is advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and operational challenges.
