Role Overview

The Logistics Coordinator plans internal fleet activity for recovered paper collection and coordinates third-party freight when needed.

The role coordinates inbound and outbound shipments and serves as a central communication point across operations, drivers, carriers, and departments.

Location and Work Pattern

  • This is an on-site role at 70 Addiscott Court, Markham, Ontario.
  • The position is full time and permanent, with an eight-hour Monday-to-Friday daytime schedule.

Salary and Benefits

  • The salary is $60,000 to $70,000 per year.
  • Benefits include a bonus program, group insurance, group RRSP contributions, an employee assistance program, and vision care reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and adjust daily internal fleet routes for recovered paper collection.
  • Prioritize pickups based on demand, geography, driver capacity, and operational needs.
  • Coordinate third-party transportation when internal fleet capacity is constrained.
  • Communicate load details, appointments, and access requirements with carriers and internal teams.
  • Monitor route and shipment status and escalate delays, missed pickups, service failures, and access issues.
  • Coordinate inbound loads, outbound pickups, dock appointments, loading readiness, and shipment timing.
  • Align receiving priorities, dock activity, and material movement with operations.
  • Maintain scheduling, shipment, carrier, and service records in company systems.
  • Identify improvements to route efficiency, dock coordination, and logistics flow.

Qualifications

  • A degree in operations management, logistics, business administration, or engineering is required, depending on the field.
  • At least five years of logistics planning experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Planning-tool proficiency, including MS Project or advanced Excel, and ERP/MRP experience are required.
  • The role requires communication, organization, prioritization, problem-solving, collaboration, and customer-service skills.
  • Candidates must be able to work in variable temperatures.
  • Forklift experience is an asset.
