The Loan Document Review Specialist is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and validating loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
This role plays a critical part in minimizing risk, supporting loan processing efficiency, and ensuring high-quality loan file integrity.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
- Verifying borrower information, loan terms, and supporting documentation
- Identifying discrepancies, missing documentation, or potential risk factors and escalate as needed
- Collaborating with loan officers and loan assistants to resolve documentation issues
- Maintaining detailed records of findings and communicating required corrections clearly and efficiently
- Performing quality control audits on closed loan files to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Staying current with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and lending guidelines
- Meeting productivity and accuracy benchmarks while managing multiple files simultaneously
Two years of experience in mortgage, lending, loan processing, underwriting support, or document review with a strong understanding of loan documentation, including income verification, credit reports, and closing disclosures, as well as a familiarity with regulatory requirements such as TRID, RESPA, and TILA, is preferred. Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, the a bility to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently is required.
