Role Overview
This position involves the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical power lines and systems. Lineworkers will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity. Job Responsibilities:** * Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical power lines, cables, and other electrical equipment. * Work with energized and de-energized lines, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures. * Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers, and various hand tools. * Climb poles and structures, and work at various heights and in confined spaces. * Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders. * Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical systems. * Assist in the restoration of power during outages and emergencies, often in adverse weather conditions. * Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. * Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers. * Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Job Qualifications:** * High school diploma or equivalent. * Completion of a recognized Lineworker apprenticeship program preferred. * Proven experience as a Lineworker with demonstrated ability to work on both overhead (OH) and underground (UG) systems. * Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. * Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions. * Strong understanding of electrical theory, safety practices, and utility construction standards. * Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and trenchers. * Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and be on-call for emergencies. * OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
