PURPOSE
To provide quality service and products to our customers in a timely and professional manner.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for building linen carts at the Nitro, WV depot from bulk clean linen delivered by the nightly KY shuttle, one day ahead of scheduled delivery, and staging completed carts for the next day's routes. Also responsible for loading soiled bulk linen into the outbound shuttle trailer. Provides a superior level of linen service in a timely, accurate, and safety-conscious manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Build linen carts to each route's required par levels, one full day ahead of the scheduled delivery date
- Accurately count and verify linen types and quantities against each route's cart requirements
- Stage completed carts by route/vehicle ahead of the next day's 4:00 AM load time
- Load soiled bulk linen into the outbound trailer ahead of that night's shuttle dispatch
- Keep the depot floor, cart staging areas, and bulk linen storage clean and organized
- Follow all company safety rules and policies
- Have excellent attendance and be on time for scheduled shifts
- Communicate with the Depot Manager on any linen shortages, quality issues, or shuttle delays that could affect next-day builds
- Assist route drivers with morning loading as needed
- Accurately complete required paperwork/handheld device entries for cart counts
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with supervising and training new staff
- Communicate with the laundry plant in the Depot Manager's absence
- Cross-train in other depot positions per business needs
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Be able to stand and be on your feet up to 12 hours a day
- Be able to push/pull soil/clean carts weighing up to 800 lbs. (on wheels)
- Sufficient manual dexterity to build linen carts accurately and efficiently
- Must be able to consistently meet physical requirements such as bending, twisting, and pulling
- Must be able to accurately perform simple mathematics for cart counts
- Ability to speak and read the English language
- Available to work the schedule needed to complete next-day builds ahead of the nightly shuttle and next morning's dispatch
