Summary
- The Laundry Sorter is responsible for receiving, sorting and preparing laundry items for processing.
- The role ensures all garments and linen are sorted correctly according to fabric, colour, washing requirements, and customer instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive soiled laundry from customers and internal collection points.
- Sort garments, uniforms, and linen by colour, fabric type, and washing requirements.
- Check items for stains, damage, or missing buttons and report any issues to the Supervisor.
- Separate heavily stained or damaged items for special treatment.
- Count, tag, and track customer items accurately.
- Prepare sorted laundry for washing by placing items in the correct carts or bins.
- Follow procedures when handling guests’ garments and delicate fabrics.
- Keep the sorting area clean and organised.
- Assist with loading and unloading laundry carts when required.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures.
- Meet daily productivity and quality targets.
- Support other laundry operations as required.
Skills & Competencies
- Previous laundry experience is preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and write basic English.
