Role Overview
Prepare and cook Japanese menu items such as ramen, tempura, katsu, and hot or cold appetizers to recipe and quality standards.
Maintain a tidy, efficient workstation and support consistent service during peak hours.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stock the station with broths, sauces, tare, dashi, rice, noodles, garnishes, and other mise en place.
- Perform knife work, vegetable cuts, protein trimming, and portioning while minimizing waste.
- Coordinate with the expeditor to maintain ticket flow and accurate plating.
- Monitor freshness and quality, adjust seasonings, and report low inventory or quality issues.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and support ingredient receiving, storage, FIFO rotation, opening, closing, and deep cleaning.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of kitchen experience is required.
- Knowledge of Japanese menu preparation, food safety, allergen awareness, sanitation, labeling, and product rotation is required.
Compensation
- Full-time position paying from AED 2,500 per month.
