Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Lighting Designer role based in Abu Dhabi.

The Lighting Designer will create lighting concepts and detailed designs for interior and exterior spaces, including residential, commercial, hospitality, and architectural projects.

Daily tasks include developing lighting layouts, selecting fixtures, preparing technical drawings, and producing documentation such as lighting schedules and specifications.

The role involves coordinating with architects, interior designers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure designs are feasible, code-compliant, and aligned with project budgets and timelines.

The Lighting Designer will also perform calculations, simulations, and renderings, support the design review process, and assist with on-site visits, mock-ups, and commissioning of lighting control systems.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Lighting Design, including concept development, fixture selection, and technical documentation.
Experience with Architectural Lighting and Lighting for interiors, facades, and public spaces.
Knowledge of Lighting Control systems and integration with building and interior design.
Background or strong collaboration experience in Interior Design and architecture-related disciplines.
Familiarity with lighting calculation and visualization tools (e.g., Dialux, Relux, AGi32) and CAD/BIM software.
Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings, codes, and project specifications.
Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience working in the Middle East or on international lighting projects is a plus.
