Role overview

Join the Transportation Project Delivery team as a Life Safety Engineer on a multidisciplinary transportation project.

Collaborate with design, engineering, construction supervision, and D&B contractor teams across the project lifecycle.

Focus on fire and life safety aspects of transportation project design and construction.

Core responsibilities

  • Provide life safety systems engineering advice and subject-matter expertise during planning, design, and delivery.
  • Review designs, submittals, inspections, testing, and contractor deliverables for compliance with codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction on fire and life safety matters.
  • Conduct or support field inspections during construction and assess alternative compliance proposals.
  • Coordinate interfaces across engineering and architectural disciplines and monitor designer inputs.
  • Prepare management progress reports and support staff coaching and safety culture development.

Required qualifications

  • Engineering degree or engineering technology diploma in electrical, mechanical, controls systems, fire engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with transport-related facilities, passenger flows, and active and passive fire protection systems.
  • Expertise in smoke management, CFD model evaluation, compartmentation, evacuation, and pedestrian-flow models.
  • Knowledge of life safety standards, regulations, codes, authority requirements, construction, testing, and procurement practices.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, organization, and inspection documentation skills.

Preferred experience

  • Railway-related experience is considered a plus.
  • Experience in the KSA or wider Middle East region is preferred.
  • Knowledge of agency jurisdictions in Riyadh is considered a plus.

Work environment

  • The role combines design review, engineering, construction supervision, field inspections, and administration work.
