Job Purpose
- The fundamental responsibility of teachers is to embrace the values and beliefs of the school and to work constantly to translate them into daily practice within the domain of the library.
- Dubai Schools Nad Al Sheba is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Librarian to join its growing school community and foster a culture of reading, research, and lifelong learning.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain an attractive, ordered and clean library environment, bulletin boards, displays, seating arrangements etc.
- Select, order, process, and publicize new materials.
- Serve as a resource for literacy support and curriculum integration of technology.
- Provide access to information through acquiring and organizing diverse materials.
- Promote the joy of reading and an appreciation of literature.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and integrate technology.
- Provide orientation and instruction in the use and care of print and non print materials.
- Adhere at all times to the School's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in a classroom setting.
- Experience: Similar experience in a similar role is desired.
- Competencies: Good levels of written and spoken English, enthusiasm and aptitude for working with students, good team player.
