The Role

  • We are seeking an experienced Legal Services Manager to lead the organization's legal services function, oversee legal operations, and provide strategic legal counsel across all business areas.
  • The ideal candidate will manage legal risks, contracts, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and corporate governance while ensuring the organization operates in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement legal services strategies, governance frameworks, legal policies, and operational procedures aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to Executive Leadership and business units on corporate, commercial, employment, regulatory, contractual, and operational matters.
  • Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, interpretation, and management of commercial contracts, service agreements, procurement contracts, partnership agreements, non disclosure agreements (NDAs), and other legal documents.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Risk Management, Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, Information Technology, Operations, and Executive Leadership to support legal and regulatory initiatives.
  • Oversee corporate governance activities, including board documentation, corporate records, entity management, and governance reporting.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess legal risks, and provide recommendations to ensure ongoing compliance and business readiness.
  • Manage disputes, litigation, arbitration, investigations, claims, and legal correspondence while coordinating with external legal counsel when required.
  • Establish legal document management systems, contract lifecycle management processes, legal knowledge repositories, and governance standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including contract turnaround time, legal risk mitigation, compliance performance, litigation outcomes, policy implementation, stakeholder satisfaction, and legal service efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements, data privacy regulations, anti bribery and anti corruption laws, intellectual property protections, employment legislation, and organizational policies.
  • Drive legal operations modernization through contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, document automation, workflow automation, artificial intelligence (AI) assisted legal research, e discovery tools, and legal analytics.
  • Manage relationships with external law firms, regulatory authorities, government agencies, auditors, consultants, and other legal service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD), or an equivalent legal qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction is preferred. A Master's degree (LLM) or professional certifications in Corporate Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, or Contract Management are advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate legal services, commercial law, legal operations, compliance, or related roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing legal teams, legal operations, or corporate legal functions preferred.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial contracts, employment law, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, dispute resolution, risk management, and legal operations.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, legal document management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365, Power BI, e signature platforms, and legal research tools.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations, ESG governance, AI assisted legal technologies, legal automation, e discovery platforms, and enterprise legal operations is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple legal matters while balancing business priorities, regulatory requirements, confidentiality, risk mitigation, and organizational objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in remote and hybrid environments, with flexibility to attend legal proceedings, negotiations, board meetings, and regulatory engagements as required.
